The primary objective of the program is to offer educational programs of international standards, preparing students to become competent medical professionals with a holistic approach in a global environment.
At the end of the undergraduate program the objectives achieved shall be:
- Basic Medical Training: Enable students to diagnose and treat primary health care problems, and familiarize them with specialty and super specialty subjects to appropriately diagnose and direct patients for secondary and tertiary health issues.
- National Health Programs: Bring awareness and implement national programs such as:
- Immunization Program
- TB Control Program
- Malaria Control Program
- Filaria Eradication Program
- AIDS Awareness Program
- Community Health Obligation: Achieve health for all through health education, emphasizing the importance of sanitation and water supply.
- Disease Prevention and Control: Focus on the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Lifelong Learning: Develop a scientific temper in students for lifelong learning, as medicine is constantly evolving, by regularly attending CME programs.
Course Structure
The period of 4% years is divided as follows:
Phase I
First Professional phase of 12 months including a Foundation Course of one week and University exams.
It shall consist of preclinical subjects:
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Biochemistry
- Introduction to Community Medicine
- Humanities
- Professional development including Attitude, Ethics & Communication (AETCOM) module
- Family adoption programme through village outreach
- Pandemic module and early clinical exposure
- Ensuring alignment & all types of integration and simulation based learning.
Phase II
Second Professional (12 months) including University exam
It will consist of
- Pathology
- Pharmacology
- Microbiology
- Family visit under Community Medicine
- General Surgery
- General Medicine & Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Professional development including AETCOM module
- Simulation-based learning and introduction to clinical subjects ensuring both alignment & all types of integration.
Phase III – 30 months
Third Professional Part I (12 months, including University exams)

- Medicine and allied specialties (General Medicine. Psychiatry, Dermatology (including Venereology and Leprosy, Respiratory Medicine (including Tuberculosis)
- Surgery and allied specialties (General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology. Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Dentistry. Physical Medicine and rehabilitation, Anesthesiology and Radiodiagnosis)
- Obstetrics and Gynecology (including Family Welfare)
- Pediatrics
- AETCOM module
CRMI
Internship comprises of a period of 12 months where the students will attend rotational duty in various clinical departments.
MBBS Regulations
II MBBS –18 Months: 3 Terms

Objectives
At the end of II MBBS, the student should be able to
- Understand concepts of cell injury and the biological and morphological effects of such injury on various organ systems. The natural biology of various diseases and diagnostic relationships.
- Describe the relationship of host and parasites, defenses of the body and the mechanism of microbial diseases and their prevention.
- Perform Medico-Legal Autopsies, prepare a report or certify in Medico-Legal Cases and be aware of the legal or Court Procedures related to medicine.
- Understand drug actions, drug interactions, drug prescriptions, and recognize or prevent adverse drug reactions.
- He/She should be able to translate the above concepts to understand various manifestations of diseases and apply corrective therapy on patients.
III MBBS – Part – I 12 months 2 Terms

The student should able to understand
- The epidemiology of various infectious and non-infectious diseases and to understand and manage health problems at the social and Community levels
- Identify common problems related to eye and Visionn and take effective care for prevention of common eye diseases.
- Patho-physiology of common Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, investigate and treat them and to recognize preventable causes of deafness.

Objectives
The student should be able to understand:
- Normal growth and development of child with the manifestations of common pediatric problems and their management. Should understand the importance and prevention of Common. Childhood infectious diseases and understand, implement various National Programmes related to Child Health
- Common infectious and non-infectious diseases, their diagnostic and investigative procedures and effective management of these illnesses including allied specialties like Dermatology, Psychiatry, Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases.
- The manifestations diagnostic modalities and therapeutic principles of common surgical problems, to manage common orthopedic problems and understand anaesthetic principles of management. The Principles of radio-diagnosis and radiotherapy.
- The anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of female genital tract, recognize normal and abnormal labour and manage normal labour, Concepts of Family Planning, Contraception, recognize abnormalities of the genital tract, investigate and treat common problems.
ONE YEAR COMPULSORY ROTATING RESIDENT INTERNSHIP
where the student is trained and prepared to get acquainted with procedures in the management of patients at the hospital and community levels. After successful completion, the Degree and License to practice are awarded by the concerned authorities.
Course Highlights
- MBBS is an undergraduate degree in medicine which enables one to register as a medical practitioner and to pursue post graduate degrees in various fields of medicine.
- Duration of study is 4 1/2 years followed by one year internship

- Approved and notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt of India in concurrence with the University Grants Commission (UGC)
- Indian Curriculum
- The course is taught in English as the medium of instruction.
- The degree will be awarded by Vinayaka Missions University.
- The Indian students graduating in this program will have to undergo a screening test as per the provisions of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the Screening test regulations, 2002 of Medical Council of India (MCI), to register as a medical practitioner in India.

Course Information
The total duration of study is 5 1/2 years (66 months) including 1 year internship.
The entire program is divided into five phases as detailed below:

Microbiology | Study of microbes, viruses, fungi, etc. that cause diseases in human beings. It also enlightens on the evidence based drug treatment on microbial diseases. |
Pathology | This branch of medical science deals with morbid anatoy of deceased organs, microscopic changes that follow a disease, detection of abnormal and cancerous cells etc. |
Pharmacology | Study of drugs and their orgin, including its nature, properties and effects on living organisms, it studies and evaluates the drugs potential therapeutic value and throws light in the discovery, composition, identification, biological / physioogical effects and use of drugs. |
Forensic medicine | The branch of medical science that uses medica knowledge for legal purposes, to enhance credibility of evidences. |
Community medicine | Community medicine plays a major role in preventive measures of diseases and health hazards in the society. |
Phase – III (12 months)
Oto Rhino Laryngology [E.N.T]
Study of diseases in head & neck, ear, nose and throat and its management.
Ophthalmology
Study of diseases of eye and its management by medical and surgical means.
Community medicine
Community medicine plays a major role in preventive measures of diseases and health hazards in the society.
Phase – IV (18 months)
General Medicine | A major branch of clinical study involving the diseases, its pattern, manifestation and therapeutics. It also involves the critical care management of emergency situations. |
General Surgery | Concerned with diseases that can be managed by surgical means and the various types and methods of surgical procedures. |
Obstetrics & Gynaecology | A branch of medicine that deals with the diseases and hygiene and health of women, reproductive physiology, childbirth and care of the mother. |
Paediatrics | Deals with child health in general and exclusively deals with diseases affecting children and adolescence. |
Psychiatry | Deals with mental health of individuals and management of such patients. |
Dermatology | A branch of medicine concerned with the study of diseases of skin and its treatment. |
Radiology | A branch of health science dealing with diagnositc modalities of x-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI. It also deals with radio therapeutic measures. |
Phase – V (12 months)
Internship | Hospital rotational postings in various disciplines. |
Eligibility and Criteria(Indian Students)
Education | A pass in 10 + 2 system or higher secondary or senior secondary or Pre Degree Cours ot their equivalents having passed with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology / (Botany / Zoology) and English individually and with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/(Botany and Zoology) taken together. For Indian students the eligibility norms of Medical Council of India (MCI) will apply for quota / reserved category students. |
Age | Candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the MBBS Course. |
